Hello! I admit that when I first saw the Italian moka pot on a shelf I was intimidated and avoided it. Why go through so much trouble for coffee? Keurig cups it is for me!
One lazy (usual) day, I stumbled upon a Youtube video on how to use a moka pot. It seemed simple enough.

    Easy instructions.

The instructions on how to use a moka pot said to fill the filter cup with your ground coffee of choice, fill the water chamber with water up to the line, screw the two chambers together, and place the entire pot over the stove.
Then watch hot bubbling coffee fill the top moka pot chamber. Easy, right?

    Inexpensive Options.

To get over the intimidation and to not waste a lot of money in case I didn’t like it, I settled on this $10 moka pot on Amazon. Hey, what do I have to lose on trying this out for only $10?? Not that much actually.
Now…I can’t live without my moka pot every morning. And this $10 pot has lasted me over 5 years.
My moka pot brews fresh coffee fast and the hot fresh fragrance wakes up any groggy mornings after a long night.
During the summer mornings (and sometimes afternoon for a pick me up), I make myself a fresh iced coffee latte. I am less than a five minute drive to Starbucks with a drive through but that will set me back about $6 a day.

    Starbucks rival.

To me, this easy latte is just as good. After following my moka pot instructions, I pour the hot coffee over a bit of ice. Reminder that a lot of ice can water down the coffee so more coffee may be needed for a stronger coffee flavor.
Not much is needed to save money and make your own iced latte with this simple moka pot I got from Amazon.

4 teaspoons (depending on size of pot) ground coffee of choice
    1 cup boiling water
    1 moka pot of choice
1/2 cup milk of choice (optional)
    1/2 cup of ice (optional)

    Directions

    1.

    Boil water:

Boil water and fill the bottom half of your Moka pot with boiling water. Fill with water right below the filter hole. Careful not to overfill.

    2.

Connect the moka pot's top and chamber:

Screw on the moka pot’s spouted (top). CAUTION: The bottom chamber will be hot!

    3.

    Time to cook:

Place the entire moka pot on the stove set to medium heat.

    Approaching a boil:

When the water in the bottom chamber approaches a boil, the pressure will push a stream of coffee slowly through the upper chamber. The coffee should flow slowly. If the coffee releases too fast, lower the heat. The coffee is done when you hear a hissing sound.
