Was your family’s Hawaii vacation canceled this year because of the pandemic? One of our most memorable trips of visiting Waikiki in Hawaii was trying out the yummy local foods.
One of our favorite dishes from the local eateries were the famous food trucks that serve the super garlicky butter shrimp. The shrimp was fresh and juicy, and drenched in the garlic butter sauce that is to die for.
Bringing the Taste of Hawaii Home
From one bite of the shrimp, you can tell it wasn’t just oozing with garlic and butter. The sauce had a kick to it that filled your taste buds with spice and pepper.
The Hawaiian food trucks served the shrimp with lemon wedges and a side of white rice to balance out all those flavors. The rice complemented the shrimp perfectly providing the carbs that completed the meal.
    Bursting with Flavor
There were multiple restaurants that served this famous garlic shrimp throughout Oahu and none of them disappointed. Who could complain? We devoured our shrimp with ice cold beers by the sandy beaches.
When we got home from our Oahu trip that year, I could not forget about this dish and knew I had to recreate it.
The ingredients I used here are found in your local markets and are easily substituted with any other flavors of your choice.
    Crowd Pleaser
We regularly make this dish for our friends and family. This is always a crowd favorite at parties and everyone always can’t believe how much the dish reminds them of Hawaii.
Create this must try dish at home and let me know in the comments how it went.
